A Few Weather Tools

Post by backinthemangle »

A few weather tools some of our members might not be aware of:

1. WunderMap
http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/? ... 91&zoom=10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Enter your own location (full address, latlong or zipcode). Tickboxes on the right allow you to superimpose
realtime radar, air & water temps, wind velocities & directions, humidities, river gauge readouts, and a ton
more stuff, over a map OR sat image. Oh, and if you hold over the time & date near the top, you can get
both forecasts AND historicals (for comparison).

2. Weather Spark
http://weatherspark.com/forecasts/noaa/ ... stal+River" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is a sample page for forecasts, but also check out.....
http://weatherspark.com/averages/statio ... es/Florida" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
.....to look up the "Averages" data for your location.

3. Near-Realtime Wind Vector Map
http://hint.fm/wind/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(Click on your location to magnify.)

Love the wind map.

Last year, after Raylene finally got her money back outa that whole "sister club" business venture down there
in Mexico --- I tried to tell her there was somethin' not quite right with that Titty Twister place --- she plowed
it all into an entire WALL o' kayakfishin' weather e-lectronics back in the bait shop.

Now, if a feller wants to git the weather, he can walk in here at five in the morning an' take a look at our new
Clydestrong-9 radar. (That thang is so powerful we can only turn it on a coupla times a day, an' even then, we
gotta send somebody out inta the parkin' lot afterwards to sweep up all them dead birds.)

She even hired one o' them TV weather guys so she could pipe a continuous weather show onto them TV's
over the bar, but after Lester an' the boys figgered out how much fun ya could have snappin' them $300
yuppie suspenders o' his, an' how all that gel stuff in his hair would let ya twist it up inta a cone, he got all
weepy an' lit out o' here in that lil' tutti-frutti Jap clown car o' his.

(Personally, I think he already had another job lined up, 'cause he kept name-droppin' about some place
called the Iso Bar.)
