Rocket Launchers

Rik, Mako, how do you make the rocket launchers like you both have?

I have a WS so hopefully they're the same diameter, I'll check first.

Thanks much!

On my WS boats there is no need for a reducer, the 1 1/4" pipe works perfectly.

Mine is pretty simple, you can see it here in this pic-

Rik,

What is the purpose of the "slice" of coupler on the bottom?

Mine is a bit more complicated than most. Yes, in most, a 1 1/4" PVC pipe fits. In mine, it was too tight so I went searching in my PVC fittings storage bin and found that the 1" cap fit perfectly.

The "slice" is there to keep it from wobbling. The 1" cap fits snugly but it is at the bottom of the rod holder. The slice at the top just keeps it snug the whole length.

side note - am I the only one with a PVC fittings storage bin? Seems I always end up with a few extra pieces every time I build something with PVC.

Thanks.

I don't have a PVC storage bin. I have a few extra fittings laying around, but not enough to justify a bin. Maybe I should start over buying to start my collection.

Guess I'm not as 'fessional as you are, all I have is a cardboard box full.

If you ever put in your own sprinkler system you have a bin.

Here is a poor picture of the one I built for my Big Game. Being that I'm old and not very agile, I needed a holder that was easy to get the rod out of. I hate looking like a contorsionist try to get my poles.

That is more what I had in mind. It looks as though you used the PVC to build a frame and then attached premade rodholders to the frame. Is that right?

A couple cuts down the length of the pipe will allow it to fit in the rod holders.
