If I can get my daughter to stick with fishing my life will be complete. Ain't a life problem that can't be solved/fixed/remedied/minimized while fishing.
Call it a 30" red and/or her placing in a PF tourney. That would be uber cool.
Your bucket list
Re: Your bucket list
Salmon (Scotland or Alaska)
Barramundi (Australia)
Big Brown Trout on fly (New Zealand)
Mahseer in India
Taimen in Mongolia
Grayling (Alaska or UK)
Hopefully a trip to Australia will be in my near future, within the next 5 years or so
Alaska is right up on there on the list, so very many species to target up there, it would have to be a two week trip at least.

Re: Your bucket list
I'd start closer to home. A grand slam in Tampa Bay with one rig, same flyrod - same fly.
After that.......everything everywhere! Don't really have a list, there are toooo many options. Just to keep trying different.

Re: Your bucket list
Since my health has been in question lately and the doctors have found a new passion for poking me with a needle and coming up with no answers and some days I'm so tired I just want to sleep forever thoughts have crossed my mind......I'd love to go to Louisianan and fish the flats there with my kids and wife and probably bring along my father as well since I haven't fished with him since I was a boy. The red fish there are world class and the sunsets from what I've seen on TV look like they touch the edge of heaven. Then maybe take that cruise to Alaska like I've always dreamed of...Then I'd probably rent a new super snake and do doughnuts in it till the tires fell off and leave tattoos on the street that'd be there for years to come so when people drove by it they'd remember crazy ass Derek.

Looks like a hell of a trip! Probably pricey too. It must be what the reds eat over there and the temp of the water cause they look enormous. I especially like the last pic.

Re: Your bucket list
That trip cost me 2 tanks of gas for my truck, half a tank for the boat, one bottle of rum, $180 in cash for 3 nights in the room, and one boat scrubbing. You do not have to spend a bunch of money to fish over there. If you want to start thinking about the details get in touch. That is the first step.

Re: Your bucket list
Cow creek and the legend are figments of some imagination. At least the legend is I know for sure.
