You'd be surprised how skinny the FWC can get when they want to... they have some pretty sweet equipment.

They need more unmarked vessels. You can see them a mile away. Plenty of time to untie the nets.
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

A couple weeks ago I pulled up next to the Sarasota County Sherrif's boat that was setting just off Whale Key. I told him that mullet boats had been running up on full plane all the way back into the Buttonwood channel all morning. He said that is what he was doing there to try and catch them. A short time later a boat came screaming all the way out the channel. As soon as he cleared Whale Key he saw the Sherrif's boat and shut it down. The Sherrif flipped on this lights and the mullet boat pulled along side. Not sure what happened, but the mullet boat was there for almost 30 minutes.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.
