Points for Saturday - Read this!

Post by Rik »

It is important to understand how you get points. Yes, we sometimes make it complicated so lets review.

FOR THE MONEY POT:

The scoring will be the inches of your 3 largest fish and those 3 fish must be at least 2 species. (example - 2 redfish and one trout is good. One trout, 1 ladyfish and 1 monster jack is good. 3 redfish is not) However, the fish MUST be on a measuring board. If the fish goes off the end of your measuring board you only get credit for the length of your board. (example - a 6 foot shark on a 36 inch measuring board gets 36 points)

Any questions on that?

You can also get points before the event. Get a quote for Home, Auto, Boat, RV and/or Renters insurance from Llewellyn Insurance Services before the event and you get 10 points. You can have 10 points before you even launch on February 15 AND you might even save some money on your insurance! No purchase is required.

Any questions on that? Several guys will be launching on Saturday with 10 points in their pocket - along with some extra money that they saved with lower premiums.

You can also get 10 points for texting me a picture the day of the event. The picture must have you, your kayak, a fish you caught and the angler token in the picture. I'm always asking you guys for pictures from these events and getting very few. Consider this a bribe.

Any questions on that? Text the pics to 941 followed by 320 and then 7242. You might want to put that number in your phone ahead of time.

Bonus Money from Llewellyn Insurance Services.

Llewellyn Insurance Services will be paying out "Trash Can Cash". This is $50 each for the 3 largest "trash" fish - ladyfish, lizardfish, pinfish.

If one of those fish, or none of those fish, is caught we will substitute with catfish, jack, bluefish or mackeral

Any questions on that?

One more point - one person can't win in more than one category. In other words, if you win second place in the money pot, you can not also win one of the Bonus Money prizes. It's called spreading the wealth.

Here's what the scoring sheet will look like:

My spread sheet to track this should be quite interesting.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.
