Hit one of my favorite spots on Saturday. I fished flats, mangrove edges and deep grass flats. I caught 5 trout, 3 bluefish in the 3 to 4 pound range, a couple of big ladyfish, a couple jacks, a spanish mackerel, a lizardfish, a pinfish, and this snook.
And this sunrise.
Life is good!

Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

Great post and pictures.
I only get to make a few trips a year flats fishing now that I'm land locked in Atlanta. Local friends don't get why I always want to head south and do some saltwater fishing. They point out all of the lakes with in an hour or so. For me one of the coolest things about fishing the flats is the diversity of species. I may be targeting reds, and end up with snook, trout, blues, flounder, the occasional shark, the all to common lady fish or jack. If I'm targeting bass in a lake its rare that I catch anything else.
