McKay Bay

Post by Jolly »

Has anyone ever fished McKay Bay (northeast side of Hillsborough Bay) or the river flowing into it (not sure of its name)? I have never seen a report on it, but with mangroves, the flow from the river, and what appears to be some grass flats, I always wonder if it has potential.

That would be Palm River.
I spotted someone last Saturday (10/20) about 6:00am with a kayak in the back of a truck on the southeasterly side of the Licata Bridge. Was that you?

Nope, not me. If I get out there, I will give a report!

I've fished it once before and caught a few nice reds and snook, supposedly there are juvi tarpon in the area too, but I never saw them.

With the water clearing up and cooler temps it seems like it should hold some fish.
