Oh yeah, I got Rik good, fun stuff at the PFTS.

Walt aka EZLYF, is a gracious sponsor of the PFTS through his company MetalFab.

At the recent PFTS Walt donated a very nice reel with the requirement that it gets raffled off to an angler who had not won anything during the tournament. A great idea. Of course we saved the best prize for last and, lo and behold, Rik's number was called as the winner of the reel. Congrats Rik!

As several of us watched him gloat over the winning of the reel I soon realized I was not going to let him get away with winning the reel and braggin about it so easy. Quickly I came up with a devious idea and replaced his reel in the box with something else.

Yes folks that is a dirty ashtray. I would have loved to see the look on his face when he got home and opened up the box. I still cannot figure out why he thought of me first?

Being the enterprising guy he is Rik made the best of it and went fishing the next day with his new "reel".

For the few of us that were there and saw the quick exchange it was really hard to keep a straight face. Erick and I laughed about it all the way home.

See the PFTS is not always about a competition we do have a really good time at these events.

Thanks for being a good sport Rik. I will get the reel back to you in a few months after I break it in.

Ah yes, I was had. It was a good one, have to hand it to Todd. He got me.

However, I was so anxious to use it, I had to put it on a rod so I trayed up the new ashtray and took it out to the creek yesterday. It worked great.

Once again I want to thank Walt "EZYLYF" Ruda, President, Owner, and Expert Metal Bender at Metalfab (http://www.metalfab-inc.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - gotta click that to at least see the cool opening page!) for being a sponsor of the PFTS.

Hooked into something nice that was more then the rod, ashtray or me was going to stop. Instead of getting trayed, I broke it off. Looks like I'll need to re-tray. Sure didn't leave me with much line.

Bill,

Ashtrays are very slippery. Took as lot of mono backing to make the braid hold. That big fish took all the braid, you're looking at backing. I ain't no damn rookie! I know how to spool an ashtray.

I'm guessing you would smoke it if you caught said fish...

Thank you very much - I'll be here until Thursday. Try the veal.

The worst part about pulling pranks such as this is waiting for the payback.

Payback? I might have to Google that word to find out what it means.
