As you know winter finally kicked into high gear a few days ago sending overnight temps to the low 30s. I wanted to start the year off right so I ventured into manatee infested basins in search of snook and tarpon. After a bit of frustration and a few lure changes, I found what I was looking for. The golden bream DOA Terroreyz worked slowly in 8-20 ft of dark water got the job done.

Question on the terror eyes, you said you were fishing in 8-12 feet of water.
How were you working the lure, were you fishing on or off bottom, straight retrieve or digging motion?
I have found some smaller Tarpon in similar depths, and would appreciate any tips you may be willing to share.
Thanks.

Cast it out and let it sink for 10-15 seconds so it gets to the bottom. Then give a hard, sharp upward twitch every 4 seconds. The key is to keep it on the bottom. When you give it those sharp twitches it will create a puff of mud and look like a fish popping off the bottom.John wrote:Question on the terror eyes, you said you were fishing in 8-12 feet of water.
