Ive laid 2 18inch long sections of PVC pipe in each tunnel and it seem to bring the seat up to a comfortable height. It just fits under a support that is under the gunnel. In the middle I would guess its up 2 inches or so. My question is do I need support under the middle of the chair pan?? I like having the room to slide a storage box but don't way to break the seat or pan. I weight in at 240. Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply I think I will fabricate something out of some quarter inch plywood to span across that should help with spreading out the weight secure the tubes and still leave space for a thin Plano storage box.

If you don't mind sitting above the gunnels, here's how I rigged mine:

A couple pieces of PVC zip-tied to the undercarriage:

I like that UT. Do you have any problems with the PVC trying to slide around?

I tie off the rear of the seat to the thwart:

The front gets clipped in as per usual and the end caps on the PVC sit nicely in the armrest channels, preventing the seat from moving side to side.

The height also makes it a lot easier to stand up without bracing on the gunnels or pulling on a bow line.
