Have any of you experimented with "Fly-Lipps"? http://www.flylipps.com/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's a tie-on plasic lip that should impart a little side-to-side wiggle to your fly when retreived.
I've tied these up, and initial pond-testing does show the flies will wiggle without a lot of rod manipulation - just on a straight retreive.
The first is a floater/diver ... pops 2-3 times then dives about 3-4" under the water on the retrieve -- using a floating line. Might be even better with a sink-tip or intermeadiate line where it would start out on top, sink down, and perhaps even suspend between strips.
The other is my "Bi-Color Bunny" fly pattern with a fly-lip attached ...
Not sure when I'll get a chance to try these guys out for real, but for now it's something new to add to the fly box ....

Dave, finally had a chance to throw it and yes -- sadly, it spins quite a bit. Oh well .....DaveR wrote:Do they spin a lot when casting?
