Single hand paddle while fishing

Post by UltimateBobWPB »

Anyone use a single hand paddle when fishing?
I was looking online at the Predator single hand paddle for using while fishing anyone with any experience with these? Looks like they would be handy when you just want to turn or move a little but don't have free hands while fishing.

Yes, I use one of the Backwater Paddles. They work exactly as advertised.

I use a Backwater as well and asides from my Mirage Drive and fishing rods it is by far the most used single piece of equipment in my boat. They are great for minor corrections when you can't get your paddle out in time - around mangroves when there is no room - and as a rudder during beach landings - good piece of kit in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes I paddle with only my left hand. I call it "the stranger".

I won a Backwater paddle last year and carried it for awhile, but never used it. Where do you guy that have a Native store the thing so it is handy, but out of the way?
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

The blade slides under my seat riser. While I'm using it I just lay it on the floor in front of me.

Why not cut off $10 canoe paddle? Save $15.
