I Think Mother Nature is Fighting Back

Post by Manning »

Not real sure what Mother Nature thinks of the catch and release fishing I do, but I think someone tried to send me a message today. I had just left my driveway driving slowly in my housing plan when this bald eagle swooped down and dropped this bass in the road less than 10 feet in front of my car. The bass hit and slid to the side of the road. I took this picture ( including my size 11 shoe), then got back in the car and backed up about 100 yards to see if the eagle was going to retrieve his lost dinner. He made some low circles over the fish but never made an attempt to retrieve it.

Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

First birds falling from the sky, then fish washing up everywhere, now fish falling from the sky. OK, now I'm scared!

That's one big bass and I can't believe it fell from the sky.

Oh we believe you.... But could you imagine the look you would get from a judge after pleading that story knowing the fish was under size limit???

I would have eaten it, but I got out my Florida Road Kill cookbook and there were recipes for opossum, armadillo, and skunk. Couldn't find anything for bass road kill.

deep fat fried. The key to all southern cooking.
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley
