If you use one that is listed, please add a review. If a kayak or canoe that you would like to give a review of is not listed, please add it. This is also where you can show off your boat.

Another Commander 140

Post by jslager »

did some rigging last night and on my lunch today.

i ran across this Silent traction System over at KayakBassFishing.com where the guys were using it to make their Kayaks quieter. Chris Stewart at Stewart Products was very helpful and returned emails fast. It is supposed to be available at Harmonygear.com Sept 15th. They are supposed to have pre-cut templates available for several kayaks as well as bulk sheets. This stuff is VERY easy to work with even around the tougher areas like the captains perch. Good stuff to make a kayak an even quieter fishing platform.

Today on my lunch break I re-did my crate and set up my Sideboard. I added another rod 3 pack and made the camera/light pole taller to shoot over my shoulder even if I am on the perch. I am going to fully test it out on that water this weekend before I paint it all black and permanently secure it to the crate.

I was able to fit my FF and GPS all on one sideboard perfectly. I have no idea what i am going to do with the wiring mess. Probably stuff it all in a drybag along with the battery box unless i come up with something better.

Nice looking rig. I like the idea of the Silent Traction System.

I have, the product works well. I have installed it in several places on my commander. I have found that the pieces that I put down where I stand don't stay attached for long though. The bottom of the commander is curved and where I stand i put sideways pressure on the piece and it does not want to stay. Other than that it is a great product.

I thought he was talking about the Stewart Products.

My little kayak dog loves to stand with his front feet up on the bow of the Native. At least once each trip, he'd slip off and fall in. I figured he'd learn after a while but it just didn't happen. I put some of that WS Silent Traction System stuff up there and it has solved the problem.

Todd - did you wipe down the area with Acetone before you stuck it down?

Stewart makes the product I gave to you. No I did not and that is probably the problem.
