If I decide to fish this thing tomorrow, and I don't sign in on the forum, but simply show in the morning at check in, is that permitted?

Yes it is permitted but it is a PITA to those who run the event to not know how many people are going to show up.

After further review, the play on the field stands.... I'm In!! This is the first tourney I've fished since the old Osprey tourneys with Jay and John, so cut me some slack if I screw up somehow.. My understanding is I bring my own camera and tape measure.. Does the first photo consist of your kayak rigged and on the launch pad at 6:44:59?

9. Scoring
The event uses catch-photo-release scoring determined by the length of each fish, combined in the case of slam and individually for each class. Each angler will be issued a unique scoring marker/token at the sign in. The first photo on the camera must be of your rigged boat as put in at launch with measuring device and scoring marker visible. Fish must be photographed in or on the boat, clearly showing the length of the fish with the scoring marker visible. More than one photo of a fish may be taken. Length is determined from the forward-most point of the fish to the natural pinched top of the tail. In the event of a tie the entry checked in earliest will be declared the winner. The judging committee will review the photos to verify reported results and determine place winners. The tournament director is responsible for the final call in all matters

Please read in its entirety, most questions are answered here.

Where: Southshore of Tampa Bay, see attached map of boundaries.

As in all of the events, you can fish anywhere. You are only limited to where you can launch and take out. You must launch and take out within the red boundary as indicated in the boundary map.

Image

Time:Sign in will be from 6:15 to 6:45 in the parking lot of the Southside Baptist Church of Sun City, 4208 US Highway 41, Sun City Center, FL. The Church is located 1/2 mile south of Cockroach Bay Blvd on the east side of the road. Appx. 4238 US 41 South, Ruskin, Florida. There is a large parking lot with street lights, hard to miss. A jighead with a soft plastic is one lure, a bag of 8 soft plastics is 8 lures. There can be no other lures on/in your kayak. If found with more than two lures/two rods you will be disqualifed. You can bring extra leader material but the lb. strength test of that leader must remain the same as when you launched.

Just got here from up North on Tuesday. Have not been in my kayak in over two months. Have not fished in over two months. Never fished this area. Look out boys...here I come. I have to go to bed now.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.
