A day on the water

I was out on Mon the 26th. Started the morning fishing for trout on the flats and got my fill of them by 10:00 From there I decided to throw some ladyfish chuncks up under the mangroves to see if any reds were lurking. The tide was really slow and I couldn't find ant reds so I decided to drift the chunks over some potholes in the grass. Well let me tell you I wasn't expecting what happened next. I'm sitting there slowly dragging the ladyfish when my rodtip comes down and slaps the front of my kayak. Drag screaming rod bending I'm thinking Bull Red. All of a sudden it shifts into high gear and I'm starting to run low in line so I pull my Stik Pin and go for a ride. ( I use a medium action 6'6" rod with 15# suffix braid ) Well 1hr 10min. later I get this thing next to the boat. I decided I wanted a pic so I snared the tail to hoist it up. After the pics it was release and swam away. Hope you enjoy the pics.

I wasn't going to pull it onto the boat while I was on it since everytime I tried to catch it's tail it would turn and try to take a chunk out of me. Once I had it's tail tied I paddled to a shallow flat and I felt pretty confident I could keep the boat between me and him. He measure 65 1/2 inches.

I would have believed you. That is beyond crazy bringing a green shark into a kayak.

Dude,

Nice shark. How did you get the pics? Looks like you had someone standing up taking them?

A friend of mine was with me. He has one of those Kiwi Caribe or something like that. But yes he was standing up in it when he took the pics.

Awesome. I love people risking their lives to give me, the viewer, great footage. That's why I love Shark week when the divers get out of the cage! :D
