I went on a pike fishing trip this month in Ely, MN. It was 75 and sunny for 10 days! I never even put boots on. Flip flops for the whole trip, which is completely unheard of.
The biggest I caught was a 44 incher.
Here's the pics from facebook. We were in 25hp lunds but I know you guys would like to see the pics anyhow.

Very nice. Where were you fishing? Basswood lake?
I was up there for 10 days back in 05. eight of the days we spent in BWCA. I think about Ely almost everyday and can't wait to get back.
Hope you stopped at Ely Steakhouse. Awesome prime rib and they even served Yorkshire pudding.

Funny, Ely is the name of a cathedral city in UK, about 12 miles north of where I grew up, it too has fantastic Pike fishing!! Used to fish the area a lot.
Some decent fish in there, long and lean, what were tchniques were you using to fish for them.
Man I do miss the old Pike fishing.

We were trolling or casting ridiculously huge gold spoons. Like 7 inches long.John wrote:Funny, Ely is the name of a cathedral city in UK, about 12 miles north of where I grew up, it too has fantastic Pike fishing!! Used to fish the area a lot.
