I was lucky enough to fish there about 10 years ago. The kayaks then only had rod holders. The guy who brought the bait in the mornings was still not used to seeing people from kayaks and thought we were nuts for paddling offshore looking for fish.

We didn't do nearly as well from the kayaks as you did. Great work! I would LOVE to get back there. My most memorable fish from the kayak was a hammerhead shark.

We caught our best fish from the pangas.

That is an incredible fishery and will hopefully still be there after Jimena is done

My first visit there was in 1996 and that is when I discovered sit on top kayaks and fishing from a kayak. Did a few eco tours with some gringo guides and was so sold on the kayak fishing I immediately bought one when I got back to Miami. The rod holders were later added with help from Spike at coastal kayak fishing in California. The sport has sure come a long way since the days of my old Scupper Pro with twin hatches.
