It will be interesting to hear how many scallops are located in Tampa Bay. Just this last month at work we have been capturing quite a few in our big seine nets...just inside the passes set on shoals with adjacent deep seagrass. My co-workers who have been at the institute much longer than I have, are saying they have never seen this many in years past. Most of the bay scallops we are catching now are coming from Gasparilla Sound, just inside of Boca Grande Pass.
