Tonight will be the first time night fishing for reds. I'll launch around 7 so it will still be light for a bit. My problem is that I can't stop for any new bait. In a situation like this I would probably pick up some white or glow plastics for the jig heads. So can yall give me some suggestions on what might work best in 2 ft of weeded flats at night? Here's what I have available. Silver and gold spoons, Spook Jr, Mirrolure Catch 2000, Rootbeer DOA shrimp, Neon Green glitter DOA paddletails, and Gulp Shrimp in the natural color.
Personally I was thinking the Green DOA Paddletails or spoons would be best but I thought I would ask the experts opinion. Thanks the help guys.

I've never tried fishing flats at night, I'm drawn to the dock lights like the rest of the bugs out there. Havn't had much luck w/ Reds on artificals at night but have seen it done on pin fish imitations. Good luck

Looks like lots of you were curious to know how it went. Well, it was horrible! I launched about 7 o'clock. Started using the Spook Jr. All I caught was a small ladyfish and a catfish. I was surprised that the cat would eat a top water lure. After that the water stopped moving. A friend had joined me and was using chunks of the ladyfish I caught but caught nothing. I tried some gulp for an hour or so but no takers. We decided to call it quits and headed back. The tide was out and pretty soon we were pulling our boats across the exposed sand/mud. We had to pull our kayaks for about 30 min before we could get in to paddle back to shore. Needless to say I was not a happy individual.

It was a tuff night for us too, 1 snook & 2 trout for me. Bite was right at the beginning of the incoming then shutdown. These late thursday nights put a damper on the Friday spirit. I thought about you as I paddled across a flat, water was glass, didn't see any life.

Well this looks like a challenge. I think I'll give it a go this evening just to see if I can make you guys look bad. If Cknfish can catch fish at night anybody can.
