A quotable old curmudgeon was he - just look at the new taglines!

Here are just a few. Explanations to follow - or not!

Quoth the Highly trained Expert:

"I didn't drive all this way to catch Trout!"

"New rule!"

"It could be worse - it could be raining!"

"Sanctuary!"

"That's it!"

"No serenading after midnight!"

"Here's your fucking ice!"

"Careful with those backcountry tides TK. They can flush like a toilet"

"I'll teach you everything I know about fishing. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee"

"It's time for my nap"

"Shall we?"

“Paddle DASH Fishing…don’t forget the DASH!”

Feel free to add your favorite JayB quote to this list

I think I'll just stay home next time.

"They're right there."

Maybe not an "ism", but it was what he told me 20 times if he told me once while he schooled me on a pod of reds in C-Roach. Just Jay, me and fish that were in on the fact that the old man was giving me a clinic. It was MAJIC!

This place has been quiet for a while.

I though about Jay this past Saturday. I was at a neighbor's house and was handed a glass of very nice whiskey in an unusual glass.

I scrunched up my face and said "you can't drink whiskey out of a glass like that".

I didn't bother to explain the comment, but I did enjoy the whiskey.

Middleton's. Check it out if you like Irish Whiskey.

I have a pic of Jay on my den wall but with the new look of the forum it's great to see him every time I check in here. Thanks Rik.

I agree Dave. I have a couple photos on my wall of John's antique fishing stuff that Jay did, and a couple more of my motorcycle on the wall and in frames around my house that Jay also did. Some of my most favorite possessions. So it's nice seeing the artist's face when we sign on here. Thanks, Rik.

"You would make a good stake out pole" Was what Jay said to me in only the wit Jay could carry one day while helping him out of his kayak at the bayou. One of his personal isms to me I will never forget.

Thought of him the other day with the start of baseball season upon us. Jay could talk baseball with some tremendous wisdom, he had a real passion for the sport.

I remember a print of that nature he did. They were prizes at an OLC if I remember right. Does anyone know where (if possible) I might be able to obtain a print?
