Mosquito 7-15

Post by xfactor »

Went to ML this morning early to do some scouting for next weekends trip. Could not find any reds in numbers. I think I saw three all day. But, I did find the trout. Getting them to hit was easy. Getting them in the yak was HORRIBLE. I caught about 15 dinks on a MirrOdine. The bigger trout all hit a topwater. I manage to get two in the yak that went about 18". I had six to the yak that I lost at the yak. One of them would probably go over 6 lbs. The other five were all around 20+ inches. Also lost several during the fight that felt really good. All of them were holding in the same pattern. Catch one and find another place like the first place you caught one and there would be trout there. It was a satisfying day until one HUMONGOUS storm came through. I got back to the launch and loaded just before the rain and 60 mph winds hit. Kind of scary driving in that kind of weather. I thought it was going to rip my yak and roof rack off the van. Hopefully next weekend will be and good.
