Long Key

My wife and several friends will be heading down to the Lime Tree Bay Resort on Long Key, which is just north of Marathon Key, around mid-May. If anyone has any insight into the area (from Long Key down to Key West) regarding kayak fishing, sight seeing, places to eat and/or drink, etc. it will be greatly appreciated since we are first timers to the Keys.

Thanks,
Ron

The Keys are fun, you will enjoy it.
I have been to Grassy Key (just South of Long Key) twice and I found fish pretty easy. There are Snook in the Mangroves near the Dolphin Research Center, and last year May I had a visit from a large school of Tarpon in the 36"-48" size range each morning.
Fish are basically everywhere, it just depends what you want to target.
Places to visit: Robbies (http://www.robbies.com/tarpon.htm), Bahia Honda state park to name but 2 of an endless list.

Robbie's is a must. There's nothing like hand feeding a 150 pound tarpon.

Lorelei restaurant. http://www.loreleifloridakeys.com/ Nice outdoor on the deck drinks, food is good also.
