Spoons - Would you pay more?
Spoons - Would you pay more?
Spoons run $2.50 - $3.00. Would you pay more for a spoon that does not rust? If so, how much more?

Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

The problem seems to be in the hooks and weld. That's where the rust develops. If they can fiqure out a way to attatch a stainless hook (not that Capt. Mikes p.o.c.) to a spoon that doesn't spin (like a Johnsons) a winner will be born.

I'm looking my tackle box now ... this is about all I take when I go.
Catch 5 (MirroLure)
3 Top pups (MirroLure)
4 MirroMinnows (MirroLure)
6 MirroDines (MirroLure)
3 Glo shrimp (DOA & Tsunami)
6 assorted Trout Maulers (Tsunami)
6-8 assorted jerk baits / jigheads / hooks (DOA)
You see there's no gold spoon. I get tired of buying them, even though they're not very expensive. I'd certainly pay more money for one that wouldn't rust. I know they're effective, I just don't like the constant replacement process.

I voted for $2.00, but then I got to thinking. If it doesn't rust, then that would mean if it got stuck in a fish it wouldn't rust out. Now I think I just wouldn't buy one at any cost.

Ya know, that makes WAY too much sense. So based on that logic, since you can't change out hooks, I say make cheap ones that are pretty much disposable, like a jerk bait.dunfly wrote:I voted for $2.00, but then I got to thinking. In this case, rust is GOOD for the resource.

Seems silly to me to pay more then $3.00 for a consumable item. I expect to lose them and at $3.00 each I can have many as opposed to a few that cost more.
Just make an effective spoon and don't expect them to last forever...Heck I chew $3.00 worth of gum a week....spoons are cheap leave em that way.
