I always thought Dave was conservation minded. Holding the fish right, quick pic then proper release etc. However to see this pic - the horror--- subjecting this fish to second hand smoke from a cigar................

Nice fish Dave

Good point DL, I was thinking the same thing when I saw that picture.
Recent studies have confirmed that second hand smoke can be just as harmful as smoking.
When landing a fish for a picture, I always try to position myself down wind, so none of the offending smoke is blown the fishes way.
No offense to Mr. R but I think some sensitivity training might be in order.

Not to worry guys. Judging by the position of the spot and the size of the belly on that fish, I judge it to be the lesser know "Cuban Redfish."

One of the attractants for that species is the aroma of a good smoke.

When you get into the "Hippie Trout" you can have some real fun.

Hey, I think I released that fish a couple years ago in the same spot. Of course, it was alot bigger then.

Snikees! I'm trying to think back at the exposure I've subjected the fish to (all four of them). The cheap sea gars: They're probably not as damaging are they?

Great to see you Dave. Thanks for showing the picture.

That pic is just vintage Dave. Nice fish, but a shot of you with the banana in your mouth holding the redfish would have been better...for all of us. :D
