Kayak outriggers

Post by SnookSlayer »

Well guys, I have a 14' emotion fisherman and I was thinking of ways to build outriggers that would be stable, light, and easy to use. I would like to be able to throw a cast net out of it (for bait of course) or stand in it and feel totally stable. I know not many kayakers like to use live bait but, im one of the few who does. I was thinking of building it out of aluminum square tubing and make it so it can telescope out but im kinda stuck on what to use for floats any ideas??

thx
Rob

I've got an Emotion Fisherman as well....I've found it much more stable to stand facing the stern....feet positioned almost on top of the edges of the seat.....takes a little practice, give it a try before plunking down too much moolah :D

ps....always practice standing in the yak while in shallow water, not in a boat channel
