I will start fishing the beach on Sanibel for snook weekly depending on a good incoming tide.
Fly fishing if it is not too windy. Will carry a small selection of deceivers, schminnows and Puglisi baitfish flies.
Most likely park at one of the Blind Pass parking lots.

Wish I could get to Sanibel.. I love that place even if I don;t get to fish there. I've been going there since I was a kid back in the '50's, and remeber years when we had to take the ferry across.

krash,
Yes, Sanibel is special for me too. First class beaches and true Gulf barrier island vegetation and feeling.
But, yesterday's local news had drone footage above the Lighthouse showing clear blue water on June 3rd and brown water from the lighthouse tip of land clear across to Ft Myers beach. The Army Corp just starting millions of gallons of water discharge from Lake O and the filthy dark water is already here. The article said the Corp also released into the St Lucie River as they always do.
How many more decades does the Lake O problem have to exist?

Re: Beach Snook
krash....have you ever fished any of the freshwater sloughs on Sanibel?
I did a little engineering for a remodel house on Clam Bayou. I got to know the contractor who lives on Sanibel but the homeowner was not on site - I walked back to the bayou and it was an easy kayak launch. There are supposed to be a variety of fish in there including baby tarpon?

Re: Beach Snook
No but it would be nice... not sure what fish might be in there or how fresh water could sustain not becoming brackish.
