First let me say that I was NOT fishing with Shamus today and I have to attribute some of my success to the absence of the "Shamus Jinx".
Launched just before 7 into a very empty Buttonwood Bay. There was so little water this morning that I had to skirt the mangroves on the left of the launch in order to be able to paddle out. On my first cast the lure was taken the minute it hit the water. Turned out to be a good size lady fish. Always fun on light tackle. And that set the tone for today. I caught 3 lady fish, 4 jacks, 2 pin fish, 9 trout and the red pictured below. Now I know that many of you are thinking that is a damn small red. That is true, but I ask you, how big was the red you caught today?
One more comment. I never saw a single mullet boat today and I did not see one dead fish floating in the water. Not sure if this was due to the low tide, but I hope it stays that way.

Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

No matter how many times I go, it's just as amazing as the first time.

It's actually Buttonwood Harbor and it's in Sarasota.
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley
