I use Elmer's Golden Oak Wood Filler. You can get it at any hardware store or even Walmart. It is the easiest way to do it and matches the cork well. You can also mix cork dust with wood glue, if you happen to have a lot of cork dust laying around. Most production rods have filler in the cork when you buy them. This will eventually fall out with use. Keep in mind that if you fill the surface voids, the filling, no matter what you use, will eventually fall out.

You can prevent future voids by not holding the grip in your mouth for that goofy looking hero shot.
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

I realize you're old and perhaps forgetful but we have had a conversation regarding that and how perfectly ridiculous it appears. You don't have to worry about that with me.Rik wrote:You can prevent future voids by not holding the grip in your mouth for that goofy looking hero shot.
I used plastic wood. A bit lighter than the cork but after a few outings I'm guessing the patina will return and the color difference will be negligible. Sure feels better in the hand.
