It was a bit later when I saw another red, back fully out of the water, and was able to get this little fella to eat.
I had two more good shots at redfish. One came unbuttoned and the other just spooked out.
Wind had picked up a bit and it was time to go and not 100 feet from the launch I see a snook cruising the shoreline. I wasn't set up for snook as I only had 12 lb flourocarbon leader on but who can pass up the shot? A cast, a strip, and she ate.
I expected the leader to part any second but even after a couple jumps the fish stayed hooked. Even wrapped me around a stick for a short time.
As luck would have it the fly was hooked just right I guess so the leader wasn't constantly being worked by her teeth. After a few minutes of touch and go I got her willing to take a picture. Didn't measure but close to 30 I would guess.
