Post by galletaloco »

Got a few pics of my mods on the American eagle 12.Made a forward battery shelf ran the wiring in the rub rails.Mounted a walmart stadium seat"thanks John" to keep from flipping backwards. Made pontoons going to order lobster bouys later.Cut the trolling motor shaft down.Made a stick anchor out the first 2 sections of a fiberglass extending cane pole.Got a scotty fly rod holder and bungee and velcro straps to hold rods down not in action. Nice! Hows that canoe working out for you? Did you need the additional pontoons for stability? I saw the Eaglet, which they seem to call it on their site now, and it looked promising. Did you find it too awkward for a roof top loading?

I added the pontoons for solo trips it seems more stable soloing that way.that being said there ain't no way I'd have them on in a river to much stuff to snag and go splash.Never car toped it but should be a breeze very light boat.

If you had to do it again would you get a bigger motor or is the 32 doing the job?
