Bay Area Reel Service

Post by Rik »

Sent 4 whole, but unhealthy, reels and one 'reel in a bag' to Phil a week or so ago. 3 Quantum Cabos and 2 Quantum Bocas. The reel in a bag was one I took completly apart, got sidetracked and packed all the parts in a Tupperware container. Well, it stayed like that for a year or so until it went to Phil. All the reels were your typical "hadn't been serviced in at least 3 years, dunked a few times, fished hard and put up wet" reels. Gritty, grindy, broken bail, corroded bearings.

They arrived today and, if you closed your eyes, you'd think they were brand new reels. Thanks Phil!

Top notch service.

I've been meaning to send Phil a reel that Betts reel service screwed up royally and didn't make good on. That is the last time I use their reel service and I highly recommend that no one else ever use it unless they want a smooth reel to turn to a gritty grindy mess.

I've heard nothing but great things about Phil.

Since he does such good work, we'll forgive him that digression

I concur about the Betts dis. The owner told me it would be 4-6 months to get my line roller bearing replaced.
