You brought back a lot of memories. My Uncle and Grandfather painted ships for years at New York Shipyard in Camden NJ and later at Todd in New Orleans. Good pay for a dangerous job.

Skeeter so did my dad. He was a welder at McCloskys ship yard here in tampa. They built Victory ships. My family moved here from Atlanta 1941. I was born in Ybor City on 9th Ave. in a house.

We ended up all taking a 45 minute tour of the victory ship, Ill have some pictures up soon. I welded 2 days (24 Hours) on the hull of it and it was pretty cool to be working on history.

Thats awesome to be workin on a ship that is enriched in history. My dad is a vietnam vet fro THE NAVY and he was on the DDG14 USS BUCHANNON that is now been put to rest in the pacific. I love me some history especially about military. Thx for sharing cant wait to see more can i get a touras well.
