I am growing weary of hard boiled eggs. They are a convenient snack but I started to think if the could be kicked up a notch. So the question is:
Can you smoke an egg to the point of having be like hardboiled?
And
How?
If it can how? Hard boiled eggs

Simple way is to give it that 6 mionute boil then lightly crack the egg but do not remove shell. Smoke for a bit where it can absorb some smoke through the shell.

Also try a marbled egg.

Re: If it can how?
Thanks Jeff.
I am going to give the soft boil and crack a try. I talked to a couple of the BBQ guys that come to Sam's and one had had one once and the other was curious and we discussed ways to get it done.
I am thinking deviled eggs with a bit Chipolte in the yolk would be entertaining.
As for me it is work work and more work. I just finished the home project two days before Thanksgiving and learned that my body does not do landscaping as easy as it once did. The good news is that I can now get to my kayak the bad news is that it is too damned cold to go out in it.
The computer has been giving troubles but I am hoping I have it fixed now.
Hope all is going well for you and thanks for the links to the eggs.

Have you pickled eggs? Gallon of vinegar, half a cup of salt and a box of zatarains crab boil. Add eggs let them soak a few days in the fridge. Awesome!
