Alaska - Talkeetna River

Post by ratherbefishin »

Enjoyed fishing interior Alaska, Talkeetna River. Guide took us up river, where we waded and floated back. Managed to get many Dolly Varden trout, Grayling and Rainbows. My wife, naturally, caught the biggest rainbow. Great time, strong current. Interesting to see how the glacial rivers mingle with the other streams and the transitions they create. This was my first experience with freshwater trout and I was impressed with the fight put up by Grayling. Scenery was pretty good too.

Very nice, I bet that water was a little chilly.

Pun on words?

That looks like a perfect antidote to these 100+ heat index days. Looks like you had a blast, Curt.

Wow, looks like a great trip. Grayling are one of my fantasy fish.

Grayling are a fish on my wish list too, along with all the other Alaskan species.

I have promised myself an Alask trip for my 45th Birthday!
