The lake probably was an old gravel/sand pit and now is a big detention pond. I have never seen or hooked a bass in this lake and am not sure why they are not there. Seems like a good bass lake with some shallows, some deep water and lots of grasses and cattails.
There are many less Mayans than before the freeze in January.
The tilapia will take a yellow plastic grub or yellow fly worked close to the bottom.
There are lots of tilapia in this lake and some of the island residents who have ponds have castnetted tilapia to stock their own ponds.
