Took my son camping and what I'm reluctant to call fishing this past weekend. Left out of EC, headed back to Darwin's camp site. Saw lots of floaters, mostly mojarra with some large snook and a few small tarpon. Second night stayed on Mormon Key. More dead fish lining the shores, mostly catfish. Didn't bother much with fishing, but did manage to find a couple trout.
I ran into Rich Jones, a local kayak guide, with a group on a shuttle trip back at Darwin's. They had quite the set up with a four burner camp stove, coolers with ice and lots of food. Rich was very generous sharing food, water and, thank God because I forgot to pack it, coffee!
