I went to my son's wedding in Missoula from July 27 to Aug 4th. We were very busy so I was only able to get away for a few hours of fly fishing on three ocasions.

I fished Rock Creek with my son one evening and the upper Bitteroot by myself twice.

I did not take any photos but have included one of each river here and the photos are very close to where I fished.

I caught and released browns and cutthroat in Rock Creek and an 18" cutthroat and 20" brown in the Bitteroot. fishing was slow as the summer hatches were winding down and the hopper action was not in full swing.

Most fish were taken on a Royal Wullf or a hopper floating. I love to fish nymphs and did but no activity.

If any of you are going to visit western montana and plan to fish rock creek. the bitteroot, clark fork or blackfoot send me a PM for tips or current reports.
