"Of all pursuits mankind has devised to make you look stupid and uncoordinated, fly fishing is unquestionably number one." Jack Ohman, Fear of Fly Fishing
I'm still not sure what all of the hubub is re Stripers. They seem easy tp catch. Not nearly as fun as reds and snook
Wait till you catch a big one
Pound for pound I think reds are much more fun. But I did truly enjoy catching the Stripers and will look forward to catching a bigger one in Maine in August.

I finally found Cow Creek. It's at the end of the Road to Nowhere!
Well, I have yet to catch one here in NC and they are harder to catch than Large Mouth Bass for sure. I am planning a trip down to Bath NC, where a friend of mine reeled in a few last week from the kayak. Hope to do that mid July at the latest. I am going up for a tournament in VA where stripers are one of the slam, think that is in Sept....hopefully I will figure it out by then.

I concur. I caught several many years ago in NC in the 24-30" range and reds and snook of the same size put up a much better fight in my opinion. Having said that, my brother got a 30 lb. striper that was an impressive battle. Regardless, they are still fun to catch.
