I meet Pescar at sunrise. The seas were one foot and the sky's were clear.
It was the first time out with the new kayak. I hooked a bonito on fly in 65 feet of water. It is hard to take a pic when you are hooked on fly, so no pics. I almost had the fish to the kayak when it made a power run. It pulled out 30 more yards and BAM. It looked like a bomb went off. Big king, cuda, or shark had bonito for breakfast. Paddled out to 120 feet and marked fish near the bottom. dropped a jig and bam, fish on.
Dropped again and bam, another bonito
and another.
Then hooked a small jack.
We paddled to the wreak to the north on Lake Worth Pier and we could not hook anything. Slow current.
Pescar working a jig.
Hooked one more bonito north of the pier.
We did see a sailfish but he did not want to play with us today. Off the water by 11.00 am. For the first time out the new kayak did great.
