Big Bend - Playing Hookey From Work

Post by Snook712 »

Another beautiful day in the Big Bend area. The first couple hours out were at the low tide and dead calm. No action and I did not even see any fish. Wind the tide started back in and the breeze picked up the redfish started biting.

All fish were caught on Redfish Magic spinnerbaits with a brown body and chartreuse tail. I really love those lures for blind casting.

All fish caught were over 25" with this bad boy a little under 27".

I had to anchor because of the wind and the reds were concentrated on a rocky area in 3' of water. I ended up losing my anchor while fighting a fish. The float came off the line and I never was able to find it after landing the fish.

Much thanks to Snookfinatic and Dustin for showing me the rockpile about 1 1/2 years ago.

Saaweeeet. Thanks for the invite.

I was stuck in the home office all day thanks to some radiator problems in the Jeep. At least I got to watch fishing on tv.

Very nice Roger. Glad to see the fish coming out of hiding realizing I moved!
We'll be up that way soon. I owe Vlap a big bend trip.

Don't wait too long. You know the big boys go deep when it gets hot.

We need to meet up in Homasassa some time. I have never paddle fished there and have not fished there in many years but always enjoyed it.
