Reds are back in action

I took the day off for a trip to Steinhatchee. Arrived at low tide and fished the incoming was good mojo. The reds are coming back in after a long absence from the hot weather. They were busting bait along the grasslines and i spooked a bunch as I paddled over them.

I caught reds on spinnerbaits and Exude Slugs as well as some trout on the Mirrominnow. They were not huge but were a lot of fun.

As the weather cools, the big bend heats up!

Glad to hear you got on some reds Roger.
I switched gears and started to target reds on my last few outings.
Problem is I keep running into snook. I guess that's a good problem to have! I'm going to head that way very soon so I don't get sidetracked and concentrate on some redfish action.
Big Bend in the fall is mighty good!

You can say that again. I think this group was the first exploratory party scoping things out for the Fall invasion. "Tails to the left. Tails to the right and you're the only boat in sight" should be the theme song for the Hatch in Fall.

When are you going to take a field trip up here to show some of those Tampa Bay folks what God's country is like? Make sure you coordinate the trip with me so I can be around and meet some folks.

Roger, that is great work and I hope to one day come down there to fish that area again.
