4/14 Wrightsville Beach redfish and black drum

Post by uncdub13 »

Took a friend out tryin to put him on his first redfish and it was a success. Had his jig tipped with shrimp to increase the odds, and it also produced quite a few black drum. The reds were schooled up and were all mostly 24-27" with a couple rats mixed in, ended up with close to a dozen in about 3 hours on the water. Probably had 7 or 8 black drum as well. Water temps inshore are in the mid to upper 60's and the fish are gettin nice and aggressive finally.

Nice fish. I've seen trout that didn't have that many spots.

Looks like you caught the Great Great Grandson of mine.

Of course I caught this one at Oak Island a few (40) years ago.
