Does anyone know the status of Wakulla Beach?

I heard a couple weeks ago that there was speculation that the slime/mud at wakulla beach was from sewage contamination. Anyone heard anything about this?

I stopped by last week and those algae balls were everywhere. Kinda smelled bad to so I went to some place else.
