I'm looking to expand from my current canoe paddling to a tandem kayak. With my wife, it'll be recreational and wildlife viewing. I plan on doing mainly solo fishing. Thanks to all those who keep this forum going.

Have you tried Matlacha Pass yet? I normally launch from Matlacha Community Park (free parking, no crazies, very nice launch) and have done well. Normally fish for trout, reds and during different times of the year you will find snook, tarpon and cobia...
