New Member, new to kayak

Post by Earthmapper »

Hello all,

I am new to the kayak. Still getting the feel of it before I try fishing. (mainly because I don't want to lose my gear my first time out by being ignorant! I love my yak)

I was born and raised in Saint Petersburg. I met a member last night at the 'Burg and was encouraged to join the site.

Most of my fishing experience is salt water. I spent a lot of time in a jon boat catching trout, pin fish, (and yeah, catfish) and a lot of time on bridges and piers catching mackerel, large black drum, and sheepshead. For whatever reason, this tapered off when I became a working adult.

I currently live southeast of Lake Maggiore in Saint Petersburg, and plan to fish Pinellas Point
