Surf Pompano
Went over to Martin County for a short Christmas visit. Not enough time to fish but my host and his fishing friends have been catching goodly numbers of pompano by surf casting with the long rods and using mostly sand fleas for bait.
Be thankful for every day and especially those fine days on the water

I just read Captain Bill Russell's fishing report published today, Jan 18, 2012.
He does not make any mention of pompano being caught in Pine Island Sound, Matlacha Pass or offshore here.
