I posted this here because I live on the west coast but caught this on the east coast. Went out this weekend and got a personal best. 49"
I'm in the water because I had to get out of my boat to unwrap him from my stick pin.

That fish deserves a whole lot more of a story than that, Dave! That's a lifetime catch of a redfish.gatordave wrote:Went out this weekend and got a personal best. 49"

Great fish!
I agree with Rik instead of going with the axiom of a picture is worth a 1000 words I think many of us would like a narrative to go with the pic!

I went to Banana river NMZ for the weekend. Went out a O:dark 30 ( I always wanted to say that) and fish most of the day without so much as a ripple in the water. About 2:30 I started seeing tales then more tails and then even more tails. By the time I was done I must have seen 200 tails. The whole time I was seeing these tails I was throwing at them. I threw everything in my box and no luck. I went out the next morning loaded with some cut mullet. I fished most of the day without seeing anything and as noon passed I started seeing some lone Bull Reds on the move. I paddled north to where I was the day before and the water went from Gin Clear to Mud. I seen this and the hair on my arms started standing on end. I stuck the anchor pin in and started casting a DOA 308. A few cast later I had a hookup and a few shakes later it was gone. I tossed it for about a half hour more with nothing. Time for the Mullet to come out. I put a piece on and 5 minutes later Blammo I was hooked up. I landed this 32 incher.
After releasing it I tossed another piece out and within 5 minutes I was hooked again. Only this one didn't quite feel right. I'm thinking oh great another friggin Shark. But that feeling went away as soon as it broke the surface and I seen the Bronze shine. It ran rolled and dug itself in the mud for about 20 minutes and then it finnally came to the boat. I was thinking cool that wasnt' so bad then he decided he was going test my line against my anchor pin. I had to jump out of the boat adn follow him around my boat and anchor to free it up. The end result was a personal best 49" red for me. Along with mine a friend of mine landed 2 reds one at 31" and the other being 32" Here are a few more of the Pig. The funny thing was that as soon as I got the Bull the water cleared and that was the last fish I seen for the day.
