Lagoon Report 9/19-21 VCSO Battle of the Badges

Finatic, Snook712, another colleague and I fished in the VCSO Battle of the Badges tourney on Saturday.
Pre Fish Friday we found some good spots, few slot reds, nice trout, and developed a good game plan.
Tourney day... nothing worked out as planned. We could not get anything to eat. Zeroed out... (I had zeroed both days)
Luckily Finatic and Snook712 took me to another spot on Sunday that was fishy from the time we put the kayaks in the water. It was smooth as glass and you almost did not want to put your paddle in for fear of disturbing something.
It was perfect for sight fishing. Snook712 slammed and I was a trout shy. The big accomplishment for me was breaking my all time big bull red record with a 38" monster.
(I cant figure out how to put the picture up so maybe Snook712 or Finatic can)
Next year for the tourney we are going to try to convense the organizers to have a kayak division. Maybe a kayak club from that side of the state along with some of this forums members can join.
