I am going to be in the Deltona area for the next 5 days (watching my mother) and was wondering if there are any areas along the coast I may be able to throw a fly for an hour or so (when she takes one of her many naps) say New Smyrna beach....any help would be appriciated.....

I used to fish where US1 passes over Spruce creek, It can be hit or miss, but i have pulled some nice reds and black drum out of there. You used to be able to park on the side of the road and put in, but since I haven't lived there for several years, I dont know if you still can.

Since your time is limited, I wouldn't count out a short freshwater kayak trip on the St. Johns launching from Blue Springs State Park.
